Love and Death: anche Krysten Ritter nella serie true crime HBO Max

La star di Breaking Bad e Jessica Jones Krysten Ritter è entrata nel cast di Love and Death, la serie HBO Max ispirata alla vera storia di Candy Montgomery, casalinga texana che uccise la compaesana Betty Gore nel 1980. La serie è stata creata da David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies, The Undoing) e sarà anche interpretata da Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Patrick Fugit e Lily Rabe. Krysten Ritter sarà Sherry Cleckler.

La serie sarà diretta da Lesli Linka Glatter (Homeland) e basata sul libro Evidence of Love: A True Story of Passion and Death in the Suburbs, e su una serie di articoli del Texas Monthly (Love & Death In Silicon Prairie, Part I e II).

Kelley sarà produttore esecutivo di Love and Death con la sua David E. Kelley Productions, insieme a Nicole Kidman e Per Saari con la loro Blossom Films. E inoltre Scott Brown e Megan Creydt per Texas Monthly, Matthew Tinker, Michael Klick e Helen Verno. La serie sarà prodotta da Lionsgate Television.

La storia vera

Il fatto di cronaca si svolse a Wylie, Texas, nel 1980. Candy Montgomery sembrava avere tutto: un marito amorevole con un buon lavoro, una figlia e un figlio, una bella casa in un quartiere tutto nuovo. Eppure uccise una conoscente, che frequentava in parrocchia, con un’accetta. Le indagini rivelarono che Candy aveva una personalità di cui nessuno era a conoscenza.

Il progetto concorrente

Love and Death non è l’unica serie in lavorazione basata su questo fatto di cronaca. Ce n’è anche un’altra, prodotta da Universal Content Productions e teoricamente interpretata da un’altra Elisabeth (con la “s”), Elisabeth Moss.
