La fiera delle illusioni – Nightmare Alley: arrivano i primi commenti della stampa

La stampa estera ha visto La Fiera delle Illusioni – Nightmare Alley, il nuovo film di Guillermo del Toro basato sul romanzo omonimo di William Lindsay Gresham, e sui social sono arrivati i primi commenti, in gran parte positivi.
C’è chi parla di un altro Oscar per del Toro e anche per il cast di questa pellicola, in particolar modo per il protagonista Bradley Cooper.
Ricordiamo che il film arriverà nelle nostre sale il 27 gennaio 2022.

Costruito in maniera impeccabile, perfetto per gli Oscar. La migliore interpretazione di Bradley Cooper.

Un film seducente, che cresce lentamente fino ad arrivare a uno spettacolare terzo atto. Andrebbe premiato tutto il cast. Regia perfetta, come anche la fotografia.

Non vorrei sembrare esagerato, ma sono rimasto ipnotizzato. Il cast è perfetto, soprattutto la prima parte della storia è perfetta.

Not to be a geek about it, but I was certainly entranced by Nightmare Alley. Easy to grow drunk on the lush period aesthetic alone and not a weak link to be found in the entire ensemble. The first chunk of the story was particularly in tents.

Un film fantastico. Cate Blanchett è al tempo stesso sexy e fredda come il ghiaccio. Il sogno di ogni film noir.

Un buon film, cupo e inquietante. Molto Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett ruba la scena ma a dominare sono le scenografie.

#NightmareAlley is nice and dark and moody and twisty and Bradley Cooper is really good as a hustler who kisses half the cast while Cate Blanchett steals it as always but the real MVPs are Buffalo’s classic architecture, the steady snowfall, and its stunning production design.

Non mi ha impressionato. Fare un film così avvolto dall’oscurità – sono stato costretto a strizzare gli occhi in una scena – da non farmi riconoscere il volto degli attori non equivale a fare un buon film noir. Cupo, ok, ma indistinguibile no. Troppo lungo e Bradley Cooper non mi ha trasmesso nulla. David Strathairn e Cate Blanchett i migliori.

Il film ha ottenuto il Rating R (restricted: vietato ai minori di 17 anni non accompagnati dai genitori) per “scene di sangue particolarmente violente, contenuti sessuali, linguaggio volgare e scene di nudo“.

La pellicola è caratterizzata da un cast a dir poco stellare. Nello specifico Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Toni Collette, Willem Dafoe, Richard Jenkins, Ron Perlman, Rooney Mara e David Strathairn. Anche la cantante Romina Power avrà un piccolo ruolo nel film.

La trama

Nel film La Fiera delle Illusioni – Nightmare Alley, un giovane e ambizioso giostraio (Bradley Cooper) con un talento nel manipolare le persone con poche parole ben scelte frequenta una psichiatra (Cate Blanchett) che è ancora più pericolosa di lui. Al luna park lavorano anche Molly (Rooney Mara), il capo imbonitore Clem (Willem Dafoe) e Ron Perlman nei panni di Bruno the Strongman. Richard Jenkins fa parte del pubblico dell’alta società nel ruolo del ricco industriale Ezra Grindle.
