Dagli Stati Uniti arrivano le prime reazioni della stampa su Venom: La furia di Carnage, che uscirà dopodomani nelle sale americane.

I commenti sono favorevoli al sequel, e ne elogiano soprattutto l’umorismo e la stramberia. Alcuni citano Sam Raimi e La casa II come riferimenti per la comicità del film, descritto anche come “una commedia romantica ultraviolenta”. Inoltre, si parla ancora dell’imperdibile scena dopo i titoli di coda, che “vale il viaggio al cinema”. Molti elogi anche per la performance di Tom Hardy.

Uno dei commentatori ironizza sul fatto che la durata sia di 65 minuti, ma in realtà sono 90, e pare che Venom: La furia di Carnage si muova “al ritmo di un sogno febbricitante, senza che questo gli impedisca di essere la più grande storia d’amore mai narrata”. Come un film supereroistico R-rated del 2003

Ok. #VenomLetThereBeCarnage is stupid but also a lot of fun. I enjoyed it more than the first one. It almost feels like a Rated R superhero movie circa 2003 that’s been edited for TV. Real Ben Affleck Daredevil vibes.

La sceneggiatura

La sceneggiatura di Venom 2 è stata affidata a Kelly Marcel, che aveva già messo mano al copione del primo capitolo; è nota anche per aver scritto 50 sfumature di grigio, Saving Mr. Banks e il prossimo Crudelia.

Il cast

Il protagonista Eddie Brock è interpretato da Tom Hardy, mentre Michelle Williams interpreta Anne Weying, procuratrice distrettuale nonché interesse romantico di Eddie.

Nel cast anche Woody Harrelson (Cletus Kasady / Carnage), Naomie Harris (Shriek) e Stephen Graham.

La trama

Non abbiamo informazioni specifiche sulla trama, ma è ovvio che ruoterà attorno allo scontro fra Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) e lo psicopatico Cletus Casady (Woody Harrelson), che diventa Carnage dopo essersi legato a un simbionte figlio di Venom. Al fianco del “rosso” ci sarà Shriek (Naomie Harris), supercriminale dotata di poteri sonici. Il cinecomic fa parte del Sony Universe of Marvel Characters, come il prossimo Morbius.

La regia

Alla regia c’è Andy Serkis, attore specializzato nella performance capture (ricordiamo Gollum e King Kong per i film di Peter Jackson), ma altrettanto dotato nelle interpretazioni in live-action. Questo cinecomic sarà la sua terza esperienza alla regia di un lungometraggio, dopo Breath e Mowgli: Il figlio della giungla.
